BF6 Gamers Agree: Missions Are Way Too Hard

The release of the eagerly awaited Battlefield 6 garnered widespread acclaim, notably for its premier multiplayer mode. Just on Steam, concurrent player counts surged to nearly 750,000. However, regardless of its fanfare, an increasing amount of players are protesting against some of the game's hardest challenges, which are mandatory to access certain guns.

Gamers have begun using custom matches set up using Battlefield Portal to finish these tasks, underscoring just how arduous these challenges have become.

Grasping BF6 Tasks

Missions serve as Battlefield 6's fixed in-game challenges, different from the periodically changed day-to-day and weekly tasks. The game includes four classes of assignments, but while the majority only reward skins and a few gadgets, achieving the firearm tasks is the only way of acquiring a dozen out of forty-one main guns available in the game.

A number of these locked weapons might eventually find their way on rankings for the best guns in Battlefield 6.

Gamer Backlash via Reddit

On Reddit, players are reasonably expressing their worries about how difficult and grindy a number of these challenges are. One user highlighted one of the most extreme examples, mandatory for acquiring the KTS100 MK8 LMG:

  • Neutralize 300 foes with LMGs
  • Inflict 10,000 hipfire damage with LMGs

"This task is so terrible and entirely ill-conceived, I want to tear my hair out," is a quote that summarizes just how annoyingly hard these tasks are.

Suppression in Battlefield is more diminished than before in the series, so it doesn't have anywhere near as many benefits in combat as it had in previous games. It only counts as suppression if you fail to hit several consecutive shots.

Additionally, using an LMG from the hip is extremely unreliable and functions solely at very short distances, which isn't typically where you aim to be. That player also noted the contradiction in the SMG challenge, to unlock the SCW-10, which demands eliminations when scoped in, when that challenge would be far more appropriate to hipfire kills, and vice versa.

Another Overly Demanding Challenge

Another Reddit user highlighted an additional excessively hard challenge, this time in the long-range weapon type to unlock the PSR:

  • Secure 150 precision takedowns from more than 200 meters away with sniper rifles

This is challenging enough as it is, but there's one more key thing to consider: many Battlefield 6 maps fail to facilitate combat at such a long range.

There exists a reasonable assortment of map sizes, but given there are merely nine battlegrounds in the game at present, it restricts you to playing a specific urban map, a particular valley environment, and perhaps an additional option if you're lucky if you want to snipe from a significant distance.

The Bypass

Nevertheless, a method exists: the custom game tool. The custom game creator is a system that permits you to make custom game modes on any map you prefer, including AI opponents. This implies you can bypass the intended method… but it isn't truly in line with the developer's vision.

However, when doing the challenges in a standard match feels like anti-playing, since you have to play in such an unconventional way that doesn't benefit you or your team, who can blame someone for finishing these in a custom game so squad members are not disadvantaged?

Upcoming Tweaks

It should not be shocking if a number of these missions are made easier in the coming days or weeks, because unless they are modified, certain gamers simply are unlikely to obtain the gated weapons.

Currently, the player base continues to express their views on these strenuous battlefield assignments, hoping for a less arduous player experience in future updates.
